There are two bedroom types available – thirty-eight single rooms and five rooms with two people sharing. All bedrooms are en-suite. There are five sitting rooms, two dining rooms and a prayer room. Kilternan Care Centre is a new facility, opened in February 2009 and developed by Cowper Care. The facility comprises Glebe House Nursing Home and Alexandra Close, sheltered independent living units. Glebe House, together with the sheltered housing of Alexandra Close form a village concept with plenty outdoor space for residents. The nursing home is bright and welcoming with a special dementia area for confused older people. Glebe House is a civilised home providing graduated levels of care for residents. There is a strong association with local schools who perform concerts for the residents as well as visiting the home regularly to spend some time with the residents.
